HT Foiling

Heat Transfer Foiling

HT Foiling is our modern alternative to traditional hot-foil stamping. While embossing presses the foil into paper with metal dies, our method uses a heat transfer process that bonds metallic foils permanently onto the cover surface. The result is the same brilliant foil shine, but without the indent that embossing creates.

How it Works

HT Foiling makes use of HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl), a thin, flexible foil-backed material originally developed for garment decoration. Your chosen design is precision-cut, the excess foil is carefully removed, and the design is heat-pressed onto the cover. The heat activates the adhesive, permanently bonding the foil to the surface.Colours and Finishes

You can add text or graphics to a select range of our photo books, including Espresso Leather, Espresso Eco Leather, Espresso Wibalin, Alpha Leather, and Alpha Eco Leather.

We offer a choice of:

  • Gold, Silver, Copper, Rose Gold, White, and Black

This process allows for elegant metallic lettering and graphics, offering design freedom without the cost or limitations of embossing dies.

Embossed Foiling Option

If you are specifically looking for the debossed foiling effect (where the foil is pressed into the cover with an impression), we can provide this on request. It does require a custom embossing die, and a small design typically costs in the region of R1000–R1500, including the setup and embossing process.
